Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer – Electrical Bias

Thetford | Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week (06:00–14:30 / 14:00–22:30)

We're looking for a Maintenance Engineer (electrical bias) to join a busy manufacturing team in Thetford. This is a hands-on role for someone who knows their way around industrial electrical systems and takes pride in keeping operations running smoothly.

The role

You'll be central to the day-to-day running of the maintenance function, covering both planned and reactive work across a range of machinery and equipment. Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading on electrical fault diagnosis and repair
  • Carrying out planned and preventative maintenance to reduce breakdown risk
  • Responding to emergency repairs to minimise manufacturing downtime
  • Supporting the installation and commissioning of new equipment
  • Maintaining accurate fault reports and service logs
  • Contributing to continuous improvement activity across the site
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to identify potential issues and implement preventative measures

What we're looking for

A background in maintenance engineering, ideally backed by a relevant qualifications and experience in a manufacturing environment. Beyond that, we're looking for someone who is:

  • Mechanically competent, with any hydraulic or pneumatic experience a bonus
  • A confident fault-finder who can work under pressure
  • A clear communicator, comfortable liaising with both the shop floor and management
  • Health and safety aware, with relevant certifications or training preferred - such as electrical, mechanical, or engineering qualifications
