We are currently seeking an experienced Site Engineer to join a major highways infrastructure project in Norwich on a long-term freelance basis.
Key Responsibilities
- Setting out and surveying works on site
- Ensuring works are delivered in line with drawings and specifications
- Managing QA documentation and inspection records
- Conducting site checks and quality assurance processes
- Liaising with subcontractors, site management, and design teams
- Supporting delivery of highways, drainage, and earthworks packages
- Maintaining health & safety standards across site activities
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Site Engineer on highways or major civils projects
- Strong knowledge of Quality Assurance procedures and documentation
- Competent with setting out equipment and surveying techniques
- Experience with highways, drainage, kerbing, or earthworks preferred
- CSCS card essential
- SMSTS or SSSTS beneficial
- Ability to work independently and as part of a wider delivery team
Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and confident managing QA processes within a fast-paced highways environment. Previous experience on large infrastructure schemes is highly desirable.
